We continue to follow the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recommendations. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms (sore throat, fever, cough, shortness of breath) and have traveled internationally or have been on a cruise ship within the past 14 days, please use telemedicine options where available, or contact your primary care provider or your local urgent care prior to coming to our facility.
Our hospital has created a sub-committee to design best practices for a safe return of all cases. The hospital will open for procedures in three phases. The first phase being 50% of capacity. Followed by 75% of capacity and lastly 100%. The following changes have been put in place:
In compliance with the CDC recommendations, visitors are not permitted inside our building for any patients including the Waiting Room and Inpatient Unit. Visitors may wait in their vehicle and will be updated via phone call by one of our nurses. Exceptions to this policy will be made in cases of legal guardianship and children.
All patients entering our building are screened upon arrival. Patients must have a temperature less than 99.5 degrees and a pulse ox greater than 90% to be seen for surgery. Wipeable curtains have been installed in both our Pre-Op and PACU units. Our operating rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sprayed with Danolyte. Danolyte has been recommended by the CDC as it has demonstrated it is effective against viruses on hard porous and/or non-porous surfaces.
All staff members are required to have their temperature and pulse ox taken prior to entering the building. Masks must always be worn, and all staff members are tested for COVID-19 weekly. The information coming out about COVID-19, both nationally and within our community, is changing daily. We are actively monitoring this information through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the PA Department of Health.
